Beginning in late May, the Mountain Laurel bushes begin to bloom. Hiking along trails that are lined with thick stands of the bushes is a wonderful experience.
I happen to be lucky enough to have a huge growth of Mountain Laurels in the woods just behind my garage (I wish I were luckier and had them growing in front of my garage where they would be visible from my house, but I’ll take what I can get.) Believe it or not, this is just one huge bush, 50 ft. around.
Below is an image gallery of the Mountain Laurels this year . Just click the first, or any of the pictures to enlarge it, and that will start an auto-running slide show of all 14 photos. Or, you can pause the slideshow at any point then click the forward or back arrows to navigate through the photos at you own pace.
